Museum Project Reflection

This was my first opportunity to work on several projects as part of a system and I enjoyed it very much. I learned several things about the way that I work, including that fact that I need to begin with a simple pen and paper. I think very differently on the computer than I do by hand and I need explore both realms in order to be successful. Bringing all pieces of a system up together is also important to my work process. I found more and more how each piece influences all of the other components of a system, and that the more time spent moving from one to the next (and back again), the more cohesive the system will be. I will employ this logic more emphatically for the next project.

I believe my biggest challenge with this project was my lack of exploration during my image studies. I shy away from taking risks, and I need to improve my confidence in that respect. I also want to include more graphic elements in my future pieces. I think this will be easier for me if I begin with sketches on paper, rather than beginning in the digital form.

Breaking out the box is a challenge for me. I think this first project was a step in the right direction and I'm pleased with my results. However, I do believe that I'm capable of more.
