The transitions are mostly clear, it's hard to read that second group of written type, and that one frame with the skate being off is distracting.
The story is a little awkward in it's transition between the handwritten type and the computer font. There are some really exciting moments when the overlapping parts come together and "fit"--which is a nice "surprising moment".
My only other suggestion would be to add sound--maybe the piece you made for electronic art? Very beautiful work--great job!
Hi Megan! I commented on this, since your video is not posted here yet :)
—progress: since first reviewing their storyboards have they made progress and evolve the piece in some way(s)?--- your video was very true to your initial storyboard, though, this post throws it off a little bit--i really like the image posted here--- but for the class, i really enjoyed your video's evolving process!
—story schema: is the story interesting, does it surprise you in any way? Does it challenge your expectations? If so, how? ------i really enjoyed the flow of your story, it played well to the idea of a "process" and how it's constant. I liked that you talked about how you begin your process, because, most often, someone would start with "going to the painting room". I liked your image flow, also!!
—experimentation type and image: is the design of the piece thoughtfully considered, did they explore interesting ways to combine type and image? ----I LOVED the intro text! It was so festive and fun! I felt like it might be interesting if the other text in the movie was the same way. I think that what I liked about it was that in the first few seconds, you really gave the type its space, and later, when combined with image, it just flowed through. What if it had a chance to stop and all of the images left the page for just a second, then came back? Play with it! I think it's really nice though! I LOVED your use of futura light--it really helps mimick the idea of skating and looks sharp, like skates, or something--it works well. I enjoyed your use of black and white, also!!!!
—timing: does the timing of the piece feel right? Is the type easy to read, images easy to grasp?-----i really enjoyed the flow of your piece, although I wish that I had more time to experience some of the images, so if you have time, I would definitely consider leaving some on for longer!
